Saturday  September 5th - The Rockfish Blue Mile
Plymouth is the spiritual home of the Blue Mile and this fantastic mass-participation watersports event returns for a fifth year, to open the Ocean City Festival with a splash!
The Rockfish Blue Mile Plymouth takes place on 05 September just a stone’s throw away from the historic Mayflower Steps, where hundreds of people will take to the water to swim, stand-up paddle (SUP) or kayak in a series of races. There is also an aquatriathlon and a team challenge, which are both highly competitive but also a lot of fun!
The programme of events will kick off with a series of 1,500m (1 mile) timed open water swim waves in a challenging tidal course from the Mayflower Steps to the Sound off Plymouth Hoe and back again. .
The aquatriathlon is a race where participants complete 750m in each of the three disciplines – swimming, SUP and kayaking, while in the team challenge, the three team members each tackle one of the disciplines.
Completing the day will be the 1,500m (1 mile) Kayak and SUP waves. All the equipment is provided in partnership with Fatyak Kayaks and Naish UK, and anyone over the age of 14 can enter.
